California is the place we ought to be, so we loaded up the truck and headed for Yosemite!!!

We are getting an early start this morning from Barstow, CA.  We may not have internet or cell service once we reach Yosemite, so we may not be able to post our pictures, but we will if we can.

As we head out of the city, we are seeing again, flat desert land.  We are in the Mojave Desert and everything is so dry and desolate.  In the distance we are seeing mountains, think they are the Sierra Nevadas.

Here's a Joshua Tree, they are all over the desert in this area.  There's even a Joshua Tree State Park.

I thought we had seen a lot of wind turbines in Oklahoma, but look at these here in CA.  You may hear the emergency flashers in the video...click, click, click

Okay, the 20 Mule Team Borax plant, what??  Where are the mules?

I didn't know there was an airplane rest home, where old planes retire, but here it is, in the Mojave Desert.

We are coming into the Bakersfield, CA area and everything is beautiful and green, totally different from 50 miles ago.  It's amazing how the landscape changes so drastically, so quickly.

In Bakersfield, they grow oranges, lots of oranges.

We have stopped in Bakersfield to get the truck serviced and will be leaving shortly (we hope) for Yosemite!
